In this third book you get more interaction between Jet and Laksri. Their relationship is bumpy due mostly to the secrets Laksri holds to himself. They are drawn together by the danger of Laksri being the next leader of the Nirreth and Jet being the Ring Champion and consort of Laksri. Jet feels like a pawn, used by everyone and kept in the dark about the truth of what is going on. Given just enough information so that she does what they want her to do, never knowing if what she is being told is the complete truth. Jet is surrounded by humans and Nirreth and trusts no one. Thrown into this mix is Trazen who is the current Ringmaster and controller of the games and has taken an interest in Jet. His reputation is anti-human so the reader is left wondering what game is he playing? Couldn't put this down as it is full of action, intrigue and political manuvering. It ends in a cliffhanger , but don't let what happens in book 3 upset you so much that you don't read book 4 (The Rebellion) as you would be cheating yourself out of the complete story.Product details

I can't wait for the next one to come out!!! This is a great series!! I hate to have to wait!!
Good story and intriguing if only a bit slow... it could use a bit more hope...however I will not be buying the next installment even though I read all 3 novellas in two days ... Why because of the last chapter...jet says she must continue on...why...the situation she has been put in was difficult before now it is hopeless because of what happened in the final few pages was not only tragic but implausible....
Awesome you got to read this book. IV read them and you will not be disappointed at all so check them out

This is very far from your normal strange story. There's intrigue and political maneuvers with love and power mixed in. I hope they continue with this series because it's really interesting.
I have read all these books and bought the audio version also. It continues to be a favorite of mine and I can't wait for the last book in the series. As I don't watch television a good book is important to me. This is a great book. Fun, interesting and a real cliff hanger making you want to read it again and again.
This series just keeps getting better. Jet continues competing in the rings as her relationship develops with Laks. We still don't get all the intimate details, but there's more in this book then the other two.
The politics keep spinning between Laks, Trazen, Richter, and Anaze -who can she trust?! I still don't know. The ending is one of the best cliffhangers (or shall I say worts -I hate cliffhangers)! I am still reeling from what happened, and I can't wait to read part IV to see how this will unfold.
